The Sunnah of Fajr

Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-Raheem. In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

Alhamdu Lillahi Rabbil Aalameen. All Praise Belongs to Allah, Glorified and Praised, the Lord of all the Worlds.

May the Peace and Blessings of Allah, Glorified and Praised, be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammed, his Family and his Companions.

The Sunnah of Fajr.

Sayyidah Aishah reported that Allah’s Messenger said, “The two (sunnah) raka’at of fajr

are better than the world and whatever it contains.”

The Blessing of Allah, Exalted and Praised Be He, upon you

Sayyidina Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that

Allah’s Messenger, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,

 said, “Look at those who are lower than you and do not look at those

who are above you, for, it is worthier that you do not belittle the blessing

of Allah upon you.”

Modesty

Modesty.

Sayyidina Saalim, may Allah be pleased with him, reported on the

authority of his father that Allah’s Messenger, may the peace and

blessings of Allah be upon him, passed by a man who was sermonising

his brother on modesty. So, Allah’s Messenger, may the peace and

blessings of Allah be upon him,  said, “Modesty is part of faith.”

Spend in Good Cause

Sayyidina Abu Umamah reported that Allah’s Messenger said,

“If you, O son of Aadam, spend the excess (in good cause), that

is good for you. But, if you retain it then it is bad for you. There is

no blame on spending over the necessities. And, begin (charity)

with those whom you support. And, the upper hand is better than

the lower. “

Seize the Opportunity

Sayyidina Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:

Allah’s Messenger, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,

held me by a part of my body and said, “Be in this world as though you

are a stranger or one cutting through the road and count yourself among

the occupiers of the grave.” After this, Ibn Umar said to Mujahid ‘When it

is morning, you should not trust yourself to make it to evening, and when

it is evening, you should not expect to make it to the morning.

Seize opportunity of your good health before you fall ill and of your life

before your death. For, you could not say what will be with you tomorrow.

103. Jesus, peace be upon him, passed by a cow which was calving

in great distress. “O Word of God” the cow said, “Pray that God may

deliver me.” Jesus prayed, “O Creator of the soul from the soul, begetter

of the soul from the soul, deliver her.” The cow dropped its young.
